Close to Manilva and inland of Estepona , CASARES is a traditional Andalucian white village, surrounded by mountains with winding narrow streets and spectacular views ( you can see Gibraltar and beyond that Africa), as it stands on top of a hill. Being one of the last Muslim strongholds during the occupation by the Moors the village is drenched in history. Around Casares the countryside is one of the most intact of the area, being the village inside a protected area with many nature walks.
